Well as of Feb 1st. we are officially entering preproduction mode. That means I’m going to start planning the film out in detail. We are still seeking money of course.
Also I finished or almost finished the second draft outline. I realized it was lacking a bomb. What is a bomb? A bomb is a dramatic device that puts pressure on the characters. Usually in the form of some dire event that’s going to happen at a set time in the future. This makes all the things the hero’s have to do to turn off the bomb, i.e. stop the event, much more urgent. Otherwise, the characters can just take their sweet time and the audience gets bored. But put a little time pressure on the situation and every action becomes urgent and critical. So I added a bomb. The children will be told of the dire situation and that it’s up to them to stop it early on in the story.
All I have to do now is translate this new outline into the second draft script.
